Drugs which come from plants and microorganisms are; willow bark which are used in aspirin, penicillin mould for penicillin, morphine which consists of opium poppy and cannabis used for depression (in some cases).
The reason for testing is for the safety of society if a drug has been prescribed with out testing there will be little to no knowledge whether or not there are any side effects. Testing all perspectives of a drug is a long process you have to go through different stages and regulations depending what type of drug is being produced the main part of testing in this is to see whether or not the drug is sustainable to animals of such with similarities to human dna once it has been established that the medicine is not effective on the host the human testing commences then they will see what reactions there could be to humans. After that the side effects have been established the drug will be safe and are sent to the next stage of testing.

Acetyldigoxin, adonsinide, aescin. These are some of the many examples of drugs that come from plants. Drugs need to be tested before subscribed so any side effects can be noted down and can decide whether the drug is viable to be used. Also, to make sure it helps what it needs to help. The first step is testing it technologically, then on animals and then on human cells in a lab.
Morphine can be made from, opium poppy’s; sudafed can be made from ephedra sinica; aspirin is made from willow bark; and penicillin can be made from penicillium mold. These are just a few drugs that can be made from natural plants and microorganisms out of the many. Drugs need to be tested before they can be prescribed to ensure that they are suitable for humans and that they actually work. If not tested for example a failure in the manufacturing of morphine can cause negative results as the opium poppy s an ingredient from making heroine. the same as failing to make a simple drug like sudafed, can result in you making meth. first the drug is tested using computer models and human cells in a lab, if stage one is passed, the drug is moved on to animal testing, then used on healthy volunteers during stage three, finally on patients with the illness to finally make sure it doesn’t negatively effect them.
