Hello Chaps!
If you are looking at this page then you have successfully found the place for all of your homework this year. Well done.
To check you made it please comment in the box below with a brief description of how you think you learn best, what you would like to do in science this year and one really hard question that you would like me to answer. Go!
I think i work best when discussing my ideas with a partner and building on others ideas.
I would like to learn:
I would like to learn about the periodic table and how it works.
my question to you is:
Why do rockets work in space?
Thanks Bilal! I can certainly help there!
I think I learn the best when there is a calm environment and the work is fun.
In science this year i’d like to do fun practicals such as dissection, also creative lessons.
Why is water wet?
Define wet? Do you mean why does it feel wet? Like cold?
I think I work best in groups, sitting next people I get on with and not in the back rows because I start to loose attention. Also I feel like practical’s help me understand a topic and also discussing it with people who know the topic strongly.
Do you have any idea what black holes are made of?
Callum Harris Year 8
Thanks for explaining that, Callum! I do have some ideas of what black holes are made of. Anything could be inside a black hole. They are very heavy and massive
GARY SULEIMAN 8W2S
I THINK I LEARN WELL IS WHEN DO A PRACTICAL AT THE END OF EACH TOPIC WE DO AND WHEN THE WORK YOU SET IS INTERESTING AND ENJOYABLE.
IS THE AN END TO A BLACKHOLE, IF SO WHAT IS AT THE END?
Hi Gary,
We’ll do plenty of practical work then. There isn’t really an end to a black hole. They aren’t really holes at all. Imaging a tiny ball that’s incredibly heavy. Millions of times heavier than the sun. Well heavy things have lots of gravity and they pull htings towards them. Because our ball is so heavy it crushes things that come near it and drag them in. Even light. This is a black hole.
I think i work best when discussing my ideas with a partner and building on others ideas.
I would like to learn:
I would like to learn about the periodic table and how it works.
my question to you is:
Do you believe in god?
Thanks again, Bilal.
Yes, the periodic table is a confusing thing at first. We’ll leanr about what it tells us later in the year.
In answer to your question, I don’t think so but I’m not sure. I went to a Catholic school so I know lots about what Catholic people believe about God but I am not Catholic and I don’t belong to a particular religion any more. I enjoy learning about religion though. Are you religious?
Miss C
I think I learn best when I work in pairs and I’d prefer a quiet environment more than a silent one.
In science this year I too would like to do fun practicals as much as possible.
Why is the sky blue?
We have a few theories about why the sky is blue but the prevailing one is that all the Oxygen molecules it upper atmosphere scatter blue light really easily and absorb all the other light. This is also what keeps our planet at the right termperature.
I think I learn best when I’m enjoying the work and I’m calm. For science I would be happy if we did more interactive work where we wouldn’t just be writing all the time.
why cant water be destroyed?
Thanks Josh!
Define destroyed? We could certainly turn it into other things which are invisible. Is that detruction? We’ll always have to make something. The water must always exist in some form or other. This is called the Law of Conservation of Mass
I think it will be best to work in a quiet environment.
Also this year, I would love to work on dissecting and chemistry practicals.
To end, I would like to ask the question on why particles exist?
I’ll try to sort all that out for you, Yonatan!
Why particles exist is an interesting question? Do you mean what is the purpose? Or do you mean how did they get here?
I’d like to di many practical inculding dissection
Ok Dillan.
I enjoy teaching dissections as long as they are essential. We’ll try to do one in our unit on light and another in our unit on excretion.
I like to build on others ideas but I don’t like being a leader.
If hovercars and time machines are classified sci-fi now when things like these exist what will sci-fi be like, or would it even exist?
btw I’m Aaron
i think i learn best when im next to people i get on with. i would like to learn more about black holes.
why are black holes black?
I learn best when I am in a group that knows a bit about the topic but not too much because then I don’t get to participate in the chat. I also think practicals help to understand because I’ve done it.
I would like to learn about the acids inside of us.
Do you believe in life other than on Earth?
i would work best individualy
i would like to learn about chemistry
my question is about the science into rockets
I learn best when watching science based videos on the Internet as well as doing practicals
Explain Darwins theory of evolution
I work best when the lesson is fun because if i fund it boring i will het distracted very easily. I enjoy practicals as i’ll rather be up and doing stuff for myslef than writing in a book. Why do we yawn?
Hello Miss I Would Like To Learn About The Periodic Table Because I Get Confused About What Some Of The Words Mean. I Would Also Like To Learn About Dissecting Things
And Would Like To Work In Groups Of 2 Or 3 So Everyone Can Help Each Other!
I think I would learn in a good environment with lots of discussion as a class and in pairs and also have practicals in lessons
OShaen 8W2S
I Think i work best when we do a practical for each term.
My Question is : how strong is a black hole ?
I learn best when the lesson is fun and energetic because i would like to be doing practicals and things like that because i wouldnt like working from a book
I think that I learn best when I learn through some thing I enjoy doing like using computers for research I also like practicals because I like doing things instead of writing them down.
Less homework more practical
How is ph work?
