What is heat? Well that’s the funny thing. It’s a pretty difficult concept to define. Temperature is an easier one to define because at these there are instruments to measure that.
Through the processes of heat transfer; convection, conduction and radiation we’ll be trying to determine exactly what heat is. On the way we’ll ask ourselves:
- Why do you burn your bum if you sit on a metal bench in the summer when wooden benches are just fine?
- What makes Ms Critchley’s lab heating so ridiculous?
- And, what do humans and remote controls have in common?
Some welcome relief after that tough Lomonosov business. I’ve not given up on that by the way!
