Last term The Grant Museum was kind enough to lend us a box of biological specimens to help Year 8 with their lessons on Variation and Inheritance.

We found frogs,

Dogs,

Horse teeth,

65 million year old shells,

And, what strangely became the star of the show, a modern day sea shell. did you know you can hear the see in them?

It was an absolute pleasure to share this box with our boys who were astounded that they were allowed to touch a 65 million year old object and especially with those who were even more astounded that horses had big teeth. Such a beautiful collection of treasures that delighted our boys and helped then see a little more of the real science we want them too.
